Forest waterfall in the Udzungwa Mountains
6 DaysUdzungwa · Mikumi

Itinéraire jour par jour

Day 1
West to the mountains Out of Dar early, through Morogoro, arriving at the foot of the Udzungwa escarpment by afternoon. An easy walk into the forest edge to stretch after the drive.
Day 2
Sanje Falls The full-day climb to the top of Sanje — three tiers, around 170 metres, with a pool at the middle tier you can swim in. It is a real walk: five to six hours, steep in places, and worth every step. Udzungwa red colobus and Sanje mangabey are both realistic sightings on the way up.
Day 3
Forest morning, transfer to Mikumi A shorter forest circuit looking for the smaller things — chameleons, forest birds, the sheer variety of plants — then across to Mikumi in the afternoon with a game drive as you enter the park.
Day 4
Mikumi in full Dawn to dusk on the Mkata floodplain, with a long break in the heat. Lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and eland are all resident here.
Day 5
The southern circuits The quieter tracks in the south of the park, where the vehicle traffic thins out almost entirely. Sundowner on a rise looking back across the plain.
Day 6
Home A morning drive, then the road east to Dar.
